mckinley park community convo
Join us for a powerful evening of art, community, and transformation as the Beltzhoover community gathers to unveil the Voices Against Violence (VAV) mural "From Hood to Village." This vibrant mural commemorates the lives of Richard Carrington, Jr., Shane Edwards, Jr., Aaron Wade, Jr., and Izeyah J. "Wavy" Clancy, and it serves as a beacon of hope and resilience for the entire community. **Food from Leon's Caribbean will be served! Please consider registering in advance so we have an accurate headcount for the event.**
In addition to the mural reveal, join us for a community celebration during which the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy will present two innovative concepts for the McKinley Park "community grove," inviting public review and feedback to shape the future of this cherished community space. This initiative aims to revitalize the area by creating a vibrant, inclusive space that fosters health, wellness, and community connection. By presenting two concepts for the community grove, residents can provide input and help shape the park to meet their needs and desires.

Revitalizing the McKinley 'community grove':

Share your feedback on the concept designs for the community grove in McKinley Park!

We need your feedback. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh, community organizations, and other key stakeholders is working to revitalize a key community asset in McKinley Park. Once the site of a community baseball field built by neighborhood residents, the space evokes a strong sense of pride and nostalgia for residents and park users, and has the potential to serve as a vibrant community space.

We invite you to participate in a community gathering, during which the PPC will share two proposed concepts for the space. Your feedback is crucial in determining the best choice for the park's future development.
