Please join the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy for a volunteer event at West Penn Park where we will focus on removing invasive vines to preserve the forest canopy.

Meeting Location: West Penn Field parking lot on Kenney Way (https://maps.app.goo.gl/YccPBC3QgAMXLj2R6?g_st=ic)

Parking: Lot available on site

Bathrooms: N/A

Work Description: We will be using hand tools to cut invasive woody vines which threaten to tear down branches and ultimately kill established trees in West Penn Park. Gloves and tools will be provided by the PPC.

Safetey: Work will occur off-trail on a sloped area of West Penn Park. Sturdy close-toed shoes and long pants are required. Ticks, poison ivy, and thorny vegetation may be present on site; pants and long sleeve offer an important first layer of protection. We will also have bug spray on site for volunteers to use.
