Another Bump in the Night is in the books!
Last month at Bump in the Night, so many incredible families came together to celebrate the fall season at Frick Park! With pumpkin picking, crafts, Halloween hikes, and so much more, these kiddos had the best time exploring what goes Bump in the Night!

Join us for family fun in Frick Park!
On Sunday, November 13, come along on a story hike with one of our Naturalist Educators at the Frick Environment Center. THANK YOU, FEDEX VOLUNTEERS!
|
Last month, our friends from FedEx Ground joined us at McKinley Park to help clean up the space and enhance its green infrastructure. With the help of 31 volunteers, we planted over 500 native perennial flowers, filled 12 big contractor bags with trash, and cleaned up the debris from several large fallen branches on the park lawn.
This all-hands-on-deck effort was a HUGE success, thanks to these volunteer superstars!

A SPOTLIGHT ON OUR FALL INTERNS
|
The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is honored to have a spectacular group of interns this season! Each intern we work with has an incredible passion for the environment and their parks. They work closely with various supervisors to train in a specific field at the Parks Conservancy that speaks to them the most. This month we're excited to highlight each of our amazing interns and the work they have been doing while supporting Pittsburgh's parks.

THEN AND NOW: THE REYNOLDS STREET GATEHOUSE
|
As our first showcase project in 2000, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy restored this 70-year-old gatehouse using the project plans from the original architect, John Russell Pope, and landscape architects Innocenti and Webel. This entrance to Frick Park needed an entirely new roof, replacing the asphalt with the original mixed clay tiles, and the stone desperately needed to be cleaned. However, the real highlight of the project was the landscaping, with 24 new trees and shrubs planted.
This majestic structure looks stunning in all seasons, so stop by and check it out on your next trip to Frick Park!
